YAY!!!

Certainly an interesting little piece here. With glitchy synths and small little interludes linking together, this was pretty different. Some out of this world synths are there. The drums are nice.

Not so yah...

Where's your full sound? This song screams for more than just some synths and drums randomly scattered out, make the sound bigger, like everything on that page in the coloring book has uniqueness within the fillers, or "colors".

Good attempt, keep working at it, you've got the talent, now use it!

YAY!!!

The glitchy feel itself defines your own style right there. The bassline isn't too bad either. The first three notes of it are almost always mainstreamed, but you took that 4th note in it, and it was much more bearable. The quarter note melody is very nice as well. Dynamic contrants are there, nice piano break! Great countermelodies as well!

Not so yay...

Your melody synth and bass synth seem like a good match, but they're too similar, which makes it a good blend, but not as good sound as it could be. Turn up the bass on the kick drum, EQ or an effect to up the bass end of the spectrum maybe? Only one-two changes in dynamics, but this is a short song : \

Very nice, sounds like a video game dance club session : )

I see great potential in you!

It's strange, but you're already getting pretty good with knowing how to use Fruity Loops, but you don't have extremely advanced sounds. Like someone else I'm helping out, you've got a great composing structure (but go check out the book "The Complete Idiots Guide to Music Theory", it's a great help, and I have a copy, plus I read other's music theory topics, so that helps out too), but you don't have the widest range of sounds, though I have to say it's pretty advanced considering Fruity Loops. Get some plugins, and if you don't know what they are, PM me and we'll talk, but if you do, go get some! Don't have money? Go for christmas or your birthday! Or get a job and earn money, probably the best way to get it.

Wow, just keep working the composition and get those sounds : )

It's rockin'!!!

Yes, a good little song here, I was kinda hoping for a more chaotic beat, well wait, it's there, but like, I can't hear it entirely too well. It's really your call, but turning the drums up and kicking the bass drum would get this song alive. Everything else is pretty kickin', I like the intro with the shaker instrument, very ace ^_^

Nice start : )

Your getting there, but you've got to push it hard, and I mean HARD to get this any better. The mixing of the main synths sucks butt, the mixing itself just sucks, get that down PRONTO!!! Nice composition though : )

Keep working at it with all your heart man!

Well, like i said, this is the first version, that is gonna be finnished bout time to christmas :) as a christmas-special...

Hmm...

Yes, the drum beat lacks. In the beginning, that's okay, but then, remember to have that light tap percussion thing going with a nice steady drum beat. That would kick the song a little nicer.

DSMagnum responds:

This was just some experimental stuff and it only took me about 2 hours. Not one of my greater works, but I thought it was worthy of being put in the portal.

Thanks for reviewing.

Hmm...

Diversity: Not many instruments present, and the song is really short. Maybe add some more futuristic elements to the song.

Clarity: Your stringed instrument with teh melody sounds too, well "Plucked." Smooth out the sound slightly.

DSMagnum responds:

Well, I was trying to go for a Popish Rock song, like in a Nissan car commercial I've been seeing lately. I know that it didn't start off too well with there only being one instrument, but it was too late to change anything when I noticed. I was originally aiming for something around 45 seconds for the song, and have it balanced out a little more, but I was sorta rushing to get this finished. As for the plucked feel, I thought it sounded fine, but maybe I should've thought twice about that. All the instruments I used were presets, which was probably a bad idea. I'll have to remember these things the next time I do a piece like this.

Thanks for reviewing!

DSMagnum responds:

Thanks man! I'll get around to reviewing you soon.

Hmm....

Well, MaestroRage (a very knowledge-able guy, don't be afraid to ask the guy some questions in eagerness to learn) has pretty much discussed what needs to be. I must say though, your musical composition is tight, keep that up!

Hey buddy. I didn't know it was you :P

After being around a while, I now know what a great composer MaestroRage is. Thanks for the advice ;D
