Coming back to music?

I actually haven't heard any of your other stuff but this song, but obviously, you're really talented, the drums are amazing, though this later seems to reflect trance rather than techno. That's okay though, that doesn't change this from being a good mix! Where's the original, never heard it :P

-Nice, quality samples!
-Beginning was a little rough, almost became bored with it since it doesn't vary too much. It's not like you have to do too much, but you could add some of your types of fills not only to transition to the trance part, but maybe in 16 bar phrases, and add a 4 bar fill, or whatever your heart desires!

-Nice though, really enjoyed it!

Thanks for the review! I used to be a regular on this website in late 2004 and into the end of the Summer in 2005 and basically dissapeared till now. I agree the begining is repetative and I prob could have fixed that up good; hopefully one day NG will allow the editing of songs uploaded or user ability to delete songs. I put this song in Techno because it has a much bigger fan base on this site and I'd like like to get my name out again. I will listen to your tracks and once again thanks for the review.

Really trippy!

-You use FL? It sounds like you used a whale flanger on it :P

-Turn the volume down on that effect, it's a little too loud and gets into the way of the whole song. Maybe some filter automated FX to cover for that?

-Really enjoyable, although it sticks a little to the original a little much, add your own style mate!

Nugz92 responds:

Thanks for the review man! I'll differentiate from the original a bit more. I did take some parts from the original though to create it.

DUDE! :D

Perhaps some of the best DnB I've listened to in a good time. Really amazing stuff there! First of all, the overall sound quality is really nice. Nice piano! The vox takes a little getting used to, but it's really nice to listen to after you get used to it. Maybe vocode & FX the vox?

-The drum beat is a little repetitive, add some fills, variable to signify change of mood within the song.

-Fade out of a song is so over-rated unless your song is made up of more components. Find a ending that would put shock and awe into the audience!

-Great job!

Hahaha!

Pretty tight, you've left the track kinda empty though. You submitted under DnB, where's the chaotic beats? You've taken the core of DnB and thrown it out. Make a bridge in the song with some of those chaotic beats. You get close to it, but it's not enough.

-Add some more scary FX at the beginning, wind blowing, real wind chimes glistening, minor pitch changes, those help to add that spooky effect you're looking for, along with anything else you can think of.

-Keep working on this, it's a great idea, but I think you haven't gone back to see all the different things you can do with this :D

OnyDeus responds:

Yay! Constructive criticism at its best! Thank you for your awesome review and I'll be sure to (eventually) get around to checking out your music.

By the way... in all seriousness, is there a place that shows how different genera of music differ from others... I'm horrible at know whats what.

w00tz!

-Nice sounding drums! The whole beginning seems kinda dominated by the standard techno drums at the beginning. What makes your song different? That's what I'm trying to figure out. It doesn't offer a lot of new things, although I have to say, you use your automation quite nicely.

-The builds at the beginning seems kinda weak, they may start nicely, but it's like it climbs half of Mount Everest then climbs back down, only to go maybe halfway again, and back down. Builds are meant to create more. You started to show that towards the end with the new offbeat synth that's introduced into the song, but it's still not enough. Make the song go somewhere and have more purpose, a climax if you will. Who cares if you've got good sounds and skills with your program when you need to develop a little more musically?

-Well, keep working on it, you can be the best in Ireland or the world if you do more than just this, expand your boudaries and study as many types of music styles as you can!

Pulstate responds:

Thank you mate, be sure to check out more of my stuff. :)

Loved this!

Only thing I didn't like was the random vocal you inserted in there, didn't fit well with the scene of the song, sorry ; (

-Good job otherwise, really got me groovin' @ 11pm :D

its a drop... done dance style

3.5/5 Worthy.

+Cool automated beginning to kick of the song.
-Heard that kind of bass guitar before
+Higher pitch though, which was pretty tight
-The background has little going on, you need a really low bass going in the background hitting the major chord progression of the song.
-Create a dynamic atmosphere, you need to be able to wow your audience not only on your ability to at least write music, but to be able to make it change in volumes, instruments, and effects. Tell me of a song that has an amazing, yet non-dynamical feel to it...wait, that isn't possible.
+_+ Your getting there, just keep experimenting and exploring every single avenue you can!

Hey!

Thought I should check back since it's been a while :D

-I like it, although my speakers are crap. Hey, Six1 is making a CD, go check it on the page, maybe you could help out since I'm the only one trying some DnB?

-Oh, and do you wanna still do that collab?

-Anyways, nice song, really love it. Now to find my mp3 player that has no battery and put this on there (my iPod has dissapeared ; (

oh well :P

Cool sound :D

Your mixing seems off though. Your countermelodies and fills for your drums can't seem to show up too well in the beginning because you've added so much reveerb and volume to your main instrument that plays at the beginning of the song. Nice glitchiness, really great. Okay use of dynamics, you might have more in the longer version, I dunno :P

-PUMP UP THE VOLUME ON YOUR BASS DRUM!!

-Wait, you did that once, now keep that for more of the song!

-What program you use?

-Nice job either way, enjoyable :D

Certainly different than the first, but...

...same theme. Nice opening! Really interesting! The only thing that kinda bugs me with it is the immediate transition from the single synth to the song. Maybe between those areas, add a build, that would kick it :D

-Nice sounds, XD, HEADSHOT!

g-r4ve responds:

maybe a little build woulda helped, but I intended it to be sudden
